Krahelska was a girl scout and a Home Army nurse during the Warsaw Uprising. Wounded in the first hours of the fighting, she died August 2, 1944, on the second day of fighting.
A plaque placed in the autumn of 2006 commemorates the fact that General Sikorski bestowed on her the Virturi Militari Silver Cross in September 1939 for valiantly defending the city.
