The Chopin Salon, a part of the flat where the composer spent his last years before leaving Poland, was recreated in 1960, based on a drawing by Antoni Kolberg (he was an artist and a friend of the composer). The apartment is located in the Czapski Palace (formerly Krasiński Palace at number 5, Krakowskie Przedmieście Street; today, the building belongs to the Academy of Fine Arts. Its furniture and instruments are from the original era. The exhibition also includes portraits of the Chopins and graphics depicting Warsaw at the beginning of the 19th century. 'Salonik' is the only former Warsaw living space of Fryderyk Chopin's that may be visited, as Chopin's two previous apartments have not been recreated. The first was located in the now non-existent Saski Palace (Pałac Saski), while the second was in the annex of Kazimierzowski Palace (Pałac Kazimierzowski).
